Doreta Apparel was for decades, during the 1940’s, ‘50s and ‘60s, a popular women’s wear store founded by the Kizells, Archie and Sarah. He left the province of Kovno, Lithuania, in 1904 to join his brother Jacob in Canada. Starting off as a grocer in Barry’s Bay, he became a furrier in Ottawa in the 1920s before finally settling in Kingston.
